Our Story

Where Asian flavors meet French craftsmanship.

Our founder, Janet (Jingwei) Lu, always had a passion for food. After earning her degree in Nutrition from Boston University, she found herself longing for the comforting tastes of home — soft, fluffy breads and pastries inspired by the vibrant flavors of Asia. Fueled by nostalgia and an endless curiosity for baking, she spent countless hours experimenting, testing, and perfecting recipes in her tiny kitchen.

The very first creation — a soft, stuffed bread — quickly captured the hearts of the local Asian community, receiving praise for its unique flavor, tender texture, and comforting feel. What began as a personal pursuit soon grew into something more: a vision to share these flavors with everyone.

To sharpen her craft and honor the traditions of baking, Janet pursued professional training in boulangerie at the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu. Combining the precision and artistry of French baking techniques with the soulful inspiration of Asian flavors, she built Fuful — a bakery where cultures meet and creativity rises.
